:O my steam.exe has gone over the night.. yesterday i played css and today as i tried starting it it couldnt find the .exe file o.o

any ideas?

Whats gone? The shortcut or the .exe in your steam folder ? (C:/Program Files/ Steam/)

Do u have a shortcut to launch CSS or any other steam game? That usually launches steam first then the game so that might work.

Im not to sure if any "steam.exe" file from any computer would help, although they all do the same thing so ive uploaded mine so just stick it in ur steam folder and try it.

Two options I can think of..

- Might be that, as you said your anti virus was detecting things as malicious, it quaranteined it or deleted it.

- You really do have a virus on yr PC.

So either get a new virus scanner, or reinstall your PC if it's a virus. Sad

Correct, exactly what I was thinking of! Probably you've deleted a "so called virus" named Steam.exe, but actually wasn't a virus.... Imo crappy virus detection software. Or too secure. Crying or Very sad

my steam.exe was quarantined... no comment on kaspersky^^
