As it is getting more frequent, I think it's important we make a notice about this.....

Under no circumstances should you give out your password for your steam account, your forum account, or any other account password!!!

You may get people trying to sell you beleivable sounding stories, but as a rule a decent account admin (and this includes steam personnel) has no need whatsoever to ask for your password.

I'd like to make it clear to you now that any of the LiveByTheGun administrators and/or members will NEVER have the legitimate need to ask you for your passwords! If someone attempts to get passwords from you, you can be 100% sure it is a scam and you should NOT give it out. If you are applying to join our clan, we also do NOT need any of your passwords, so never give them out.

As we are on the topic, I'd also like to point out that there are PC virusses in existense that also steal your account - and other sensitive information. Please make sure your computer has a decent virus scanner installed and never open links or files that you are not 100% sure of can be trusted!

Be carefull with what passwords you enter on public computers like internet cafes and school computers. You can never know whether the PC has been tampered with, so you can not be too careful!

It may sound overly paranoid, but it's the harsh reality; There are people on the internet that are trying to steal people's account information! It can happen to you as well, so you would do wise to be clever in what you do and don't do on the internet. Having your steam/forum account stolen is one thing. Having your credit card info stolen and mis-used, can have you end up in a pretty bad situation, without you even realising it happened, until it's too late.
