Whats the maximum fps rate you can see with your eyes? I've been reading alot of people saying like around 60 fps and less, but my pc when reset runs at about 80 fps then after an hour it drops to about 60 and i am sure theres quite a difference. I've played on 100 fps and i still think there is a slight difference, haven't played on like 120 fps but i imagine its around that or atleast enough to make some difference to game play.
I had a problem with my graphics card before so it was 60 max but when i got it fixed everytime it drops back to 60 fps it just doesn't feel right.
Maybe it doesn't affect game play but it is a bit annoying because it doesn't seem as smooth. |

I installed xGJ's config which boosted my graphs to 100+ fps and I actually got worse in playing
The moment I changed my settings back to my normal high settings (giving me around 50-60 fps, with a drop to 40 in busy situations -aka getting shot at by multiple people) I pwnd. Well, a bit. |

I use to run net_graph 3 often but not much these days since i know how much fps i get. Like 60 average and 30 at intense moments only put it on when it feels laggy just to check if its me.
I haven't used xgjs config because i already have them settings, and they do help with fps.
Not sure if i should maybe buy a new graphics card or new processor, or maybe not bother since i my cs life will end soon due to exam revision -> exams -> uni. Stupid exams

Was guna say because if you were running the net_graph 3 all of the time the feeling your getting when your fps drops is probably all in your head lol, just another psycological thing. IF you never checked your net_graph you probably would never notice a difference.
=[ Noooooo dont leave us edge. |

The human eye can view about 90 frames per second, and wont notice any difference when it gets above. And if you want a higher FPS you can try my config if you want to (by the way I didnt make it, I just wrote an article on it.)
@ Waray, you will play a lot worse when you have just installed the config, cause you get scared by the ugly graphics haha. Atleast that happened to me. If you leave it on for a while you will not notice the difference anymore and you can play pretty good But hey free choice. |

I thought when they say like 90 fps they mean like the average person but someone who spends like alot of time playing sports, playing games etc will be able to improve their rate their eyes can see. :S |

Movies/television is only 24/25 frames per second! PAL is 25 fps. But yea - With games you do notice the difference.
I think the way it's being said is kinda wrong though. The FPS aren't really the cause of your gameplay not being smooth. Just cause it coincides with your FPS dropping, doesn't mean to say that the FPS are the reason for the lousy gameplay. The low FPS is a result of your PC being overloaded (or the server.. but that's a different story) which will mean your PC will have to put things on hold, like generating new frames (meaning low FPS), or handling your mouse/keyboard input and sound, etc.
With xGj's config, you disable certain things which your PC would otherwise have to calculate/render. That means your PC has more time to generate FPS. |

Does the server run smoothly with 32 players? I'm not sure if its my internet connection/pc rather than server but when there are more than 20 i notice a small difference.
Lol i played on my friends pc with only 8 fps it was so bad. |

you know most of your monitors will refresh at 60 frames a second in which case if you all go 300 frames per second in net graph yuo would still see a mere 60 because of monitor limitations (okay maybe you refresh at 85 or higher but for most people it will be 60)
Although just because the extra benifit isn't seen due to monitor limitations, I still feel there is a higher responsiveness in the game when i play at 150+ come pair to 60 but that might just be my mind playin tricks on me because i constantly watch net_graph
also if you are experiening choppy gameplay check the fps isn't jusping around from high to low dramatically as this may make it appear choppy if you jump form 60 to 30 or even 180 to 90 would look like it slowed down even though 90 is a highly playable fps. happy gamin all |

Yea Edge the server should have (just) enough to hold 32 slots. Remember that it's not just the server, but also the client and the game engine that need to handle more data when there is more people. Might be a combination of all of the above that is causing things to be a bit less smooth. |
