In a respond to the PS3, Microsoft has launched the Xbox 360 Elite in the US a while ago. No European release date is available yet.
So, what does the Elite version offer compared to our loved white box? First of all, it isn't white any more, it's black. The colour itself looks very good I must say, it makes it more 'manly'. In addition, it features a 120 Gigabyte harddrive, HDMI connection, a HD wire, wireless controller and a headset.
The Elite can also be used to display HDTV. The harddrive is quite a lot compared to the one the regular Xbox 360 features: a 20 GB drive.
The current pricing in the US is 479 dollars, no pricing or release dates are given for any other continents yet. On some sources I found the information that it will remain US only, and when all 'Elites' are sold out, it will reintroduce itself in the white box, still featuring all the new hardware.
It's definitely something to watch if youre planning on buying a 360.
