Recently it has come to our attention that a certain member of this forum has decided that it is 'normal' to blatantly copy the LBTG - Live By The Gun name and use it to start his own CS:S clan. They are using [LBTG] as clan tag.
Lame
Obviously this is extremely lame, as they are fully aware that we have been using this clan tag for years. In the past we have always been nice to the person. Our members even helped him out with his CS:S server. This is the thanks we get for that I guess.
As I do not want to provide extra attention to their clan and website I am not going to link to them, but they are so lame that stealing just the name was not enough for them. They even went ahead and duplicated the layout of our forum, complete with the text that goes with the forum sections.
When confronted about this, the person replied with a "well you can't do anything about it.. neh neh" attitude, being a general internet-tough-guy and hiding behind the fact that he is far far away.
Although he insists that it is normal for them to just copy our name, he removes all discussion about this from their website and threatens to DDoS our website if we bring it up. Guess it's not so normal after all then if you have to resort to that, is it?
With this I would like to remind the person in question that DDoS attacks are a criminal offense. If your attacks cause disruption and or damage we will not hesitate to provide your personal details to third parties if asked to do so. As you know we have your details on record, alongside your communication where you admit that you have plans to perform these attacks.
Cheaters
Judging by the fact that they are in steam groups that promote CS:S cheats, these people are obviously not to be trusted in the game either. As such they are an even worse blemish on the Live By The Gun name and I would like to urge people to not confuse our clan with these retards. If you have a complaint about a member of the |LBTG| clan please do verify first whether this person is actually a member of our clan. You can do this by comparing the persons steam ID against that of our members.
Our member list always holds an up to date records of all the people who have clearance to wear the |LBTG| clan tag and includes their steam ID's. Anyone not present on this list should be treated as imposters and banned from our servers immediately. You will also recognise these people by the brackets surrounding their clan tag [LBTG].
I would like to ask clans that consider themselves to be friends with our clan, to follow the same policy.
Failure
With a clan leader that is even incapable of thinking of his own clan name and text for his website, I have no doubt that this annoyance will not last for very long. Let us hope they will crawl back under the rock they came from soon.
