Everywhere on the internet (a place of lies) rumours pop up about the new nVidia core. The G92 chipset was supposed to deliver us the 9 series of graphics, but it seems nVidia are choosing different paths.
According to Guru3D nVidia is working on the
GeForce 8700GT
and the 8700GTS
, both will be released in november, made on 65nm chips and built on the G92 architecture. Features and clockspeeds are still unknown, but Guru3D assumes the cards will come with 512MB GDDR3 memory, running at 1 GHz.The performance of both cards should be in between the 8600GTS and 8800GTS, so im not exactly sure at which part of the market nVidia aims with this. Some people say this is a marketing trick, to mislead the opponent, others say this is just the little brother of the (not announced) G90 core, but either way its confusing. Im sure nVidia has something good in mind though, they dont let their fans wait a long time and create a hype to release two mid end cards in the end.
The GT will most likely be priced at 200 dollars, while the GTS gets in your machine for about 250.
